Construction Management
- Provide advice on construction costs and strategic planning to prospective owners, architects, engineers, and public authorities
- Prepare and submit to clients, estimates for construction and development work
- Tender and award contracts to sub- contractors
- Liaise with the client, consultants and city officials to develop plans
- Obtain permits for the project
- Monitor budgets monthly
- Create the construction schedule and monitor the progress
- Control and negotiate extras and credits for the contract
- Monitor site progress
- Review and prepare change orders
- Meet with the client as required to review both budget and progress on a regular basis
- Approve/collate monthly progress draws and approve payments
- Meet with consultants on a regular basis to review the project and any complications

Superintending
- Supervise on site staff including the site safety officer
- Supervise all sub-contractors
- Uphold the construction schedule
- Hold weekly site meetings with trades to discuss their progress and over all work
- Hold monthly site meetings with the trades and consultants to review progress and plans
- Keep daily records and control logs
- Liaise with the project manager, consultants, owner and government officials
- Inspect the work for correctness to the drawings
- Inspect the work for quality and notify responsible party if correction is required
- Review invoices for work complete to date for progress draws- monthly
- Monitor the budget for areas of concern bi-weekly
- Purchase materials as required for non sub-contractor work
